It was my mother’s birthday on 9th January. I gifted her a brand new samsung cellular phones. It has querty keyboard ( which is of no use to her), powerful camera and more than 2 gb video storage space. My mother likes music so I have downloaded all her favorite songs. Mom isn’t much into technology, but she has started taking her phone whe she goes for her morning and evening walks. She listens to music while walking. Listening to music keeps her mind off from worrying about her children and grand children and their families.

I am excited to go back to India. Part of the excitement is buying different things for firends and relatives. I have bought a pendent set and a college bag for my sister-in law and a pocket watch for my grand-father-in law. My youngest brother-in law also demanded that I bring something for him too. He was keen on i-pod, but I have already spend major chunk of my money on buying an apple -ipod touch for husband’s birthday, so I am thinking of buying him ( brother-in law) a t-shirt with Scotland logo.
My husband’s niece is in her teens and suffers severly from acne and pimples, so I have bought a lot of acne products for her and a cute little pink compact mirror too. Her mom likes to collect handicrafts and decorative items, so I am taking a bell embellished with Edinburgh’s milestone pictures on it.

My husband is going to India in the last week of February. We will start shopping for gifts and presents. My husband likes to get gadgets for the home, like dvd players, recorders, cassette players etc. Sometimes they won’t work, and its really frustrating, because you can’t send them back from India. But when the equipment turns out good, then the delight of getting Imported Stuff is also enjoyable. I have bought anemergency light for my husband’s grandparents. They live in village. And in Indian countryside, the condition of power is pathetic, less said the better. So an emergency light would be useful for them. I will be on the look out for other items as well. My husband has a very large family, and you have to keep everyone happy :)

I am going home later this month. I have started shopping for gifts and other things that I will be taking with me. I have bought some garden accessories which are really beautiful. I am thinking of buying a tool box for my father-in-law. He is really into DIY. I am amazed how he can fix up practically every thin g in our house. He can act as a plumber, electrician and mechanic all rolled in one.
I am thinking of buying a Harley Davidson leather jackets for my younger brother in law. He is over 6 feet and very handsome. He likes to dress up. He used to wear T-shirts all the time, but after joining a new job, he has started wearing formals. But I think HD leather jacked will be cool to impress his friends. He is a smart guy and looks very dashing in jackets. Last time also I took a half sleeved puffed up jacket for him.

It was raining continuously yesterday. We couldn’t go out and my daughter was restless all the time. She insisted that we take umbrella and go to park. Today the sun is bright and I hope we can go out when I finish all the chores. At the moment Ananya is watching Tom & Jerry, which is her favorite cartoon beside Bambi. I have to go shopping too. Need to buy gifts and presents for family and friends in India. I can’t decide what to buy. Everything that’s found here is also available in India. But then IMPORTED is still a revered word there.
