My brother and his wife went on a three day tour of Jaipur and Agra. They went there along with their friends. They have have brought many items of embroidary and decorative pieces, including very cute cases for ipods and mobile phones. The cases are made of emroidered silk and look very beautiful. My brother has also bought a laptop case for my father. I was joking that they spent all thir money on shopping rather than travelling.

Edinburgh is a nice and quite city, there are many attractions for tourists here, but there are many weekend getaways, also which can keep you busy during your stay here. One of the weekend getaways is Stirling castle. We went there two weeks ago, when our friends came to visit us. I found it interesting that the overall structure and pattern of Stirling Castle is very similar to EDinburgh Castle, and both are built on hills.
The castle gives you a taste of medieval times. In the great hall, everything has been restored to match medieval periods. The Palace and Royal Chapel are fine examples of Renaissance architecture.

Summers is the time when my husband gets a travel itch. He wants to travel all Europe before we return to India and US is also on his list. He is thinking of making a trip ( alone) to Florida to attend a friend’s wedding. He is always attending friends’ weddings, and that too alone. Anyways I am not much interested in going to Florida, but I have heard a lot about Orlando vacations, and I have asked my husband to get good photos of the place. I have a friend in Orlando, whom I haven’t met for twenty years, but we still keep in touch on orkut. May be my husband will go to meet her if his schedule permits.

We are planning to go on a trip of Highlands around 2nd week of April. I am searching for boutique hotels to get reservations done in advance. There will be one other family besides us. They are newly weds and the husband is the friend hubby dear. My husband has already toured Scotland twice with friends, but we have never been outside Edinburgh ( A Bus trip to Glasgow airport en route Paris not counting), so I am pretty excited about it. Lets hope the weather permits us to enjoy our trip.

The trips to Paris and Switzerland were great. We enjoyed a lot, especially in Switzerland, though it was freezing cold most of the time. I have learned one thing from both of my trips, that you should start saving for souvenirs well in advance. Both the trips were made on shoestring budget. There was always room for small souvenirs to be bought. But I regret not buying Swiss Army watches and cuckoo clocks. I so much wanted to buy a cuckoo clock, but the cheapest one was 46 Swiss franks, and we couldn’t spend so much on a clock! This time round, I have started saving early. I am looking up information on things that can be bought in Italy.
