Since getting back to blogging, I haven’t uploaded a single photograph. Reason being, I don’t have a data cable to transfer the snaps from my camera to the laptop. I am handicapped without it. My husband has been managing quite well without a USB cable though. He takes the pictures, removes the memory card, takes the card to his office. There his friend puts the memory card in her camera and transfers the pictures on her laptop. Then he upload them on his pen drive.
But that ” simple” procedure can’t work for me. I need my photos the instant I take them. I had taken a photo of the muffler I am knitting now a days. But I couldn’t post it on my blog though I have already written a post on the knitting project. I will look for a data cable in the next car boot sale.

Gone are the days of advertising new products through posters or newspaper ads. Even Television advertisements have become stale. Now is the age of digital signage, which is a new entrant in the retail marketing. Digital signage is the cutting edge technology, in which the digital displays are controlled through a remote computer. Digital Signage is quick, you don’t need to wait for days or even hours for your ad to be displayed. You can make changes anytime you want. The digital displays can not only be used to play advertisements, but also to provide information to the customers. Many corporate houses, including hotels, are using digital signage.

My husband has collected a number of electronics items in our house. We have at least five DVD players, a cassette player, three laptops, one personal computer and a whole lot of other gadgets. When he had bought that VCR, I was so angry with him. In this age of i-pods and dvd players, who cares for cassette recordings. But I was proved wrong. Our daughter likes to watch cartoons on TV, so we have bought a lot of cassettes of disney classics. She enjoys them a lot and has learned to put the cassette inside, rewind and play it in the player.

I am thinking of throwing this laptop away. It is a total piece of junk. Shuts down whenever it wants and then try hard as you can, but it won’t start. I have installed at least three memory cards during the past six months, but this joke of a laptop doesn’t accept anything. It is happy to be an old degraded model. All my attempts to upgrade it have proved futile. It is better to gift it to my nasty nephew. Who has been eying it for some time. But he doesn’t know what he is bargaining. Ha ha ha. Should I execute my plan?

We have two digital cameras. One is an Olympus with 5 mega pixel and other one is a Samsung model with 12 mega pixels. My sister brought Olympus from Canada for our home ( my maternal home). But I snitched it from my mother and have been using this digital camera for last two years.
We bought another one from Argos, when we were planning the Paris trip. This Samsung digital camera is 12 mega pixel and cost us around $180. I wanted a slim digi-cam, but my husband insisted on this model ( which is very bulky) simply because of its high definition zoom and pixels. I like sleek and small gadgets.
