I bought a wooden rack from Bethany shop in five bucks. The rack can be used as a shoe rack or book case or a show piece stand. It has three regular shelves and fifth one is designed as a double shelf within one. I don’t have the picture right now as I haven’t brought it home yet. My husband will be picking it tomorrow. I also bought one wicket corner table with three shelves for £ 3. It is a cute little table and I am thinking of sending it back home with all the other items that I have collected over the last few days. That’s why I bought a suitcase from Samsonite luggage from British Heart Foundation’s furniture shop. It cost me nothing as compared to the real market rates. I am putting all my purchased items in it.

One of the worst things that a rented house do to your lifestyle is that it makes you yearn for things which you can afford to buy, but still can’t buy. I have always wanted to decorate our house with handicrafts and wooden show pieces, but I haven’t bought a single significant piece, because I know that it would be broken or lost or simply add to the weight when we have to move to our next destination. It’s very frustrating sometimes.

My husband is stalling the hometheatre installation because its simply not practical. Yesterday we saw very beautiful home theater chairs in the market, but had to drop the idea of buying them. We can’t simply ship everything to India when we have to leave here. I don’t know when I will be able to have my own house and set it up to my liking.

This time round on Diwali, my husband brought some Quoizel lighting with him. Its not that you don’t find electrical lighting back home, but the Imported label makes the difference. We put the lights on the lemon tree, and it was beautiful. I had lit some candles and diyas and put them in the bird house. This birdhouse is actually an old wicker basket, which I found while cleaning the house. I have a thing for all things old and antique, so I couldn’t just throw the basket away. Instead, now it is decorating my old lemon tree. I haven’t got a bird in it yet. Though a naughty little kitten do spends some nights in it.

Our friends have recently bought a new house on the outskirts of Edinburgh. My husband used to share a flat with them before we came here. We decided to buy a nice decorative piece for the house warming party. You can call me an addict, when show pieces are concerned. I had seen a very beautiful fairy in one of the shops at Nicholson street. So I was thinking of buying that fairy as a gift. But when we entered the shop, my husband’s eyes set on two teak chairs, and he decided that these would be ideal for patio furniture. I also liked the idea, and we bought the chairs. I think the gifts for new home should be bought keeping into mind the necessities and taste of the home owners. We knew that the couple hadn’t bought any furniture as yet, so the chairs were a good addition to their new home.

A hairstyle affect your whole appearance, not just that of your face. When choosing a new hairstyle you should take into account your overall body shape. If you are a traditional pear shape, don’t choose an elfin hairstyle; it will draw attention to the lower half of your body, making your hips look wide. Petite women should avoid masses of very curly hair as this makes the head appear out of proportion with the rest of the body.

  • If you wear glasses: Try to choose frames and a hairstyle that compliment each other. Large spectacles could spoil a neat, feathery cut, and very fine frames could be overpowered by a large voluminous style. Remember to take your glasses to the salon when having your hair restyled so that your hair stylist can take their shape into consideration when deciding on the overall effect.
  • Prominent nose: Choose a hairstyle that incorporates softness into your appearance. A wispy fringe would work well, and a light perm would add height and movement, to balance out your face.
  • Pointed chin: you need to style your hair with plenty of width at the jawline.Don’t have your hair cut too short.
  • Low forehead: Choose a style with a wispy fringe, rather than one with a full fringe. Choose softer style and avoid anything too severe.
  • High forehead: This is best hidden with mid-length fringes.
  • Receding chin: Select a hairstyle, that comes just below the chin level, ideally with lots of waves or curls around your shoulders.
  • Uneven hairline: A fringe should easily manage to conceal this problem.

Your hairstyle has a big influence on your appearance, so be honest with yourself and take a critical look in the mirror before choosing a new style.
