Ability of successful people lies in their skill to handle and manage difficult situations. They are capable of showing a smile even with the most tense situations. Nobody could be more tolerant and calm than Socrates of ancient Greece. That’s why he is among the great philosophers.
It is hard to find a team of people, an environment, either at our home or at our workplace most suited to our temperament. we come across hostile people, people with negative attitudes. cynics, people filled with jealousy, etc.
We have to manage these negative attitudes; only then we can be successful. ” Experience teaches us that things are not as good or as bad as they seem to be.”
Why do we respond to problems and challenges with tension and anxiety? The more severe the circumstances, the more should we relax. unfortunately there is no way for us to avoid the feelings of fear, anger, jealousy, hostility- the negative attitudes which can keep back our performance.
We exhibit our emotions in varied degrees in our day-to-day operations, both professional and domestic life. These emotions can adversely affect our performance and will act as brakes to our efficiency.
To fight against negative attitudes, the basic requirement is to understand that everyone has to face problems and challenges. This realisation takes us over the first hurdle of disturbance that most problems bring us.
People who appear to be least worried are not the ones who have the least to worry about. Often they are the people who have mastered the art of managing their worries. What happens to you is important but what you think about what happens to you is even more important, since it sets your emotions/attitudes in action.
