So you have decided to dump that old bulky TV and bring in all new sleek home theater system. Let me give you a few tips before you start building a home theater system.
Some Dos Regarding home theater :
- Be sure to read the user manual. You may be an expert in DIY, but getting the exact information regarding the connection and plugging won’t hurt.
- Choose the room wisely. You should be able to put your large TV in a room which is long enough to put the required space between the home theater system and the sitting area. If you have a 50 inch TV then the minimum distance should be ten feet between the TV and home theater chairs.
- Decide what you want as a video unit in your home theater- a large TV or projector. Then only you can settle on the various audio and video components that you will need to buy.
And Some don’ts:
- Don’t make the room totally dark.Use some soft lights, preferably behind the TV. This will prevent eye fatigue and enhance your enjoyable experience of watching TV.
- Don’t put TV right in front of a window. You won’t be able to see a thing, as light will be reflected on the screen.
- Don’t buy speakers which are of substandard quality. You are spending a fortune on TV and its various other accessories, don’t neglect the speakers. Whole experience is wasted if the sound and woofers are not up to the mark.
- Don’t make a clutter of wires and cables all around the TV system. Beside tripping, you may also find another hazards of the whole cable clutter. For one, children can get entangled in them which can be very dangerous. Pets are fond of sniffing around, and they may find it interesting to inspect the wires and plugs spread on the floor. Its better that the wire is kept as short as possible.
