How to Make a Candle

Cut off the neck of a plastic bottle ( straight-sided bottles are easiest to work with).
Break up a large handful of wax crayons. Using crayons of all of the same color is best. Melt them over a medium heat. Ask an adult if they have an old pan you can use for this.
Fill the plastic bottle up to the top with crushed ice ( crush it really well so there are no lumps-this prevents holes forming in your candle).
Push a long, thin taper candle down into the ice. Make sure the candle is as near to the center of the bottle as you can get it. Check that it reaches all the way down to the bottom of the bottle and still pokes out the top a tiny bit.
Pour the melted crayons into the plastic bottle, filling it up to the top. The ice will melt and the water will be pushed out of the bottle. The cold icy water makes the wax in the bottle set quickly.
Once the wax is set, cut away the plastic bottle.
