My daughter has stopped eating properly after coming to India. The weather is so bad that it takes away all the appetite. I am also not feeling particularly inclined to wards consumption of any kind of food. But as my daughter needs muscle growth, and strong bones, she needs to have a proper balanced diet. I am thinking of making a diet-chart for her, so that she gets all the nutrients.
Growing Years and Nutrition
Wonderful days
Oh! How I am missing those days of wonderful bliss. I have been in India for five days now and I am already fed up with the heat and humidity. This is the best time to be in Edinburgh and I am here in scorching summer heat. I complained to my husband about it and he consoled me that we will be going on luxury vacations soon. I don’t know how soon that will be, but I can trust him on this. He himself likes to travel and visit new places.
The Countdown Begins
Its six hours to go for our flight. I am flying home today. I am going to miss Edinburgh. I love this city. The holyrood park, the mountains, the charity shops, the prtebello beach…………I am taking back very fond memories of Edinburgh. We will be back in December ( hopefully), but I don’t know where we will stay then. May be London. My husband has been talking of shifting to London after we have gone back to India. Lets see. I would much prefer that we return here.
Made in India
Today I went to buy fingerless gloves for my mother in law. I couldn’t find a single one. They said at the shops that the stock comes only in winter. Then I thought of buying a purse for her and bought a nice small pink pouch for £7. There were many attractive purses but they were beyond my budget. Still I searched through them, to admire the delicate embroidery and lace work done on them. And what I found. They all bore the tags Made In India.
This has happened once before, when I was in London. I went to Primark and selected a jacket for my brother in law, and then fortunately I happened to look at the label which had the same Made in India insignia. I had to leave the jacket at the counter. I couldn’t possibly take a Made in India jacket back to India! Nobody will value such a gift. Everybody expects to get an mported gift, not a Desi one. What a shame. We make so many remarkable products which are exported to other countries and still we give importance to every worthless thing which has a tag Imported on it. The mall culture has brought with it all the commodities that could be found in the world, and we still harp for Phoren goods.
White Wine in Competition with Red Wine
We have been hearing for ages that red wine is beneficial for health, that it reduces the risk of heart attcks and cancer. It is said that the grapes ( from which red wine is fermented), contain antioxidant properties which increase the health quotient of red wine. Studies show that when you take red wine during meals, your digestion of fat improves and dangers of blood clotting are lessened.
Now we hear that Israeli researchers have developed white wine which has same antioxidant properties as the red wine. Now you have all the more reason to wine of the month clubs, and celebrate.
Unlike red wine, white wine is not naturally fortified with polyphenol compounds ( which counter adverse effects of fatty acids). Israeli researchers have found a way to induce these components in white wine during the fermentation. The healthier and improved white wine is expected to hit the market by the december.
